Group Strategic Analytics is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank's businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.
The Quantitative Fixed Income Engineering team builds applications that deliver quantitatively led pricing and trading solutions for the Rates & Credit business. Our team develops software using modern development practices to create high quality systems that can be iterated on rapidly and safely.
One key factor is the ability to automatically satisfy the requirements of the risk and control framework that manages operational risk within the algorithmic trading stacks.
The primary role of the Test Engineer is to design, write, automate and execute tests that allow these systems to satisfy these controls working within the test strategy set out by the engineering lead.
As a Test Engineer, you will also be responsible for quality assurance for production releases by reviewing automated test evidence and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) tests. You will work closely with other members of the engineering team to ensure the tests produce excellent coverage for the key risks.

Your key responsibilities
- Responsibility design and implement automated tests for algorithmic trading applications that satisfy all functional and control requirements
- Implement processes which enable complete automation of both test execution and evidence collection
- Participate in the full development lifecycle of features as part of a cross functional engineering squad
Your skills and experience
- Proven track record in delivering test automation within a trading environment
- Proven engineering skills to develop and maintain test automation frameworks written in Python and executed in a Linux environment
- Understanding of modern test automation approaches (such as Test Driven Development/ Behavior Driven Development (TDD, BDD) and how they fit into a continuous delivery model
- Familiarity/ understanding of KDB time series database is a bonus
- Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience (a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Physics would be beneficial)
