Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in maintaining and optimizing the physical and virtual infrastructure that supports our critical business operations. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Administration: Manage and maintain servers, storage, and network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Network Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Hardware and Software Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches on all infrastructure components, including servers, SANs, and other related equipment.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor infrastructure performance and address issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess and plan for future infrastructure needs based on business growth and emerging technologies.
  • Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect the organization's infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to manage contracts, service agreements, and support escalations.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

  • System Administration: Extensive experience with Windows and Linux server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core services.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing.
  • Storage Solutions: Proficiency with SAN, NAS, and other enterprise storage solutions.
  • Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
  • Backup and Recovery: Hands-on experience with backup software and strategies, including offsite and cloud-based solutions.
  • Security Practices: Familiarity with infrastructure security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and across departments.
