Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a level two or level three qualified TA to join a specialist SEND school in Rochdale.
This is a temporary full-time long-term supply role for a qualified teaching assistant from September 2024 to December 2024 in the first instance.
The Role
Teaching assistant with experience of or an interest in supporting children with a broad range of complex Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Five days a week
The ideal TA will -
be committed to inclusion and have a passion for SEND
Be flexible, enthusiastic and dependable to ensure continuity of support for children with SEND
Work collaboratively with other staff, pupils, parents and the multidisciplinary team around the child.
Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex communication, behavioural and medical needs.
While an experienced SEND teaching assistant is preferred, the school are happy to consider applications from teaching assistants with experience of working with children with SEND in mainstream primary or secondary schools.

The school provides education for pupils and students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, autism, moderate learning difficulties and specific learning difficulties.
The school is moving to a primary model from a secondary model in September 2024 - so experience of a primary curriculum as a TA will be beneficial.

To join us and be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
- Teaching assistant qualifications - level 2 or higher
- Recent experience of working as a teaching assistant in a school supported by references
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
- Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
