required by a UK wide not for profit based in central London. The postholder will be responsible for oversight of accurate recording of accounting entries as well as producing the Charity's subsidiary financial statements, responsible for the VAT and Corporation tax returns and responsible for developing, maintaining and implementation of all financial systems.

This is a full time, permanent role – salary up to £55k per annum plus benefits – hybrid working (2 days office and 3 days working from home) – offices based in central London (Zone 1 TFL). Interviews asap (1st stage will be via MS Teams and 2nd stage will be face to face at their offices)

Duties:

  • Produce the charity's subsidiary accounts and support the production of the consolidated accounts. Provide technical expertise to the team on accounting standards and relevant accounting directions.
  • Prepare and submit group quarterly VAT returns within the statutory deadlines. Lead the relationship with the external VAT and Corporation tax advisors.
  • Administer the investment portfolio, grant, scholarship programmes and fund accounting processes.
  • Responsible for producing all reconciliations for the Charity including group intercompany balances. Lead on reviewing the age debtors and creditors reports.
  • Maintain and develop the financial systems. Ensure that users are trained, and processes are well documented. Maintain the chart of accounts.
  • Develop and maintain of the financial policies, controls, systems, and processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Charity's finances and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirement.
  • Responsible for National Statistic Office and other regulatory reports.
  • Oversee the administration of bank and investment accounts, and staff and membership expense systems.
  • Lead on the effective posting and reconciliation of group payroll, pensions, and other intercompany payments.
  • Oversee the accounting and administration for all fixed assets, Lead on cash flow monitoring and reporting
  • Lead, motivate and develop the team. Responsible for 1-1 meetings, performance review and appraisals. Support the Finance Administrator through apprenticeship programme, providing mentorship.
  • Support on the development, maintenance, and implementation of all finance systems.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers, ensuring there is an evidence-based understanding of their performance.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to managers and staff. Undertake other duties appropriate to the job grade that are not listed above. Deputise for the Group Financial Reporting Manager.

Key skills and requirements for the role:

  • Reporting and consolidation responsibility for a group.
  • Staff management in a multi-site and/or hybrid working environment.
  • Professional certification– CCAB ACA or ACCA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to support other in improving their skills.
