Leaving Care Personal Advisor
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 36 hours a week
Rate: £25 umbrella an hour
About the Role
The Personal Advisor will be based at the unit in North Finchley, N12. The successful candidate will need to be in about twice per week. The role involves working with young people leaving care and asylum-seeking young people, providing them with support, guidance and advice to help them achieve their goals. The role requires experience of working with these groups of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support, guidance and advice to young people leaving care and asylum-seeking young people
- Assist young people in developing their life skills, including budgeting, cooking and cleaning
- Provide support in accessing education, training and employment opportunities
- Work with other professionals to ensure that young people receive the best possible support
- Keep accurate records of all work undertaken with young people
Requirements
- Experience of working with young people leaving care and asylum-seeking young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
