Qualified Social Worker

Qualified Social Worker - Stockport MBC, Greater Manchester - Locality Team

We are looking for two experienced social workers to join our locality social work teams covering the areas of Cheadle, Bramhall, Heatons and Reddish. The team is based centrally in Stockport. In Stockport, our model is different to lots of other local authorities - we prioritise relationships for children and their families, and operate a model of assessment to closure/permanence, with the hope that families do not need to repeat their stories. We are looking for social workers who want to work in a relational way, and who value restorative practice, focusing on high support and high challenge, to empower families to make the changes needed to care for their children safely at home in their communities.

Ideally, we are looking for children's social workers who are 2 years+ experienced, with a range of skills including assessment, planning and where possible, court work (private and public proceedings).

We have a relatively low number of agency social workers in Stockport, compared to our neighbours; however, those who come stay for long periods and enjoy access to training and good quality supervision that helps them to develop and thrive.
