We are seeking a Financial Controller to support our Finance & Operations Director in the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the finance department. This role is integral to managing the organisation's short-term liquid resources and providing accurate, comprehensive financial information.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee the finance department, including Accounts Payable & Receivable, ensuring accurate transaction recording within the accounting system.
- Conduct general bookkeeping, including ledger entries and employee expense claims.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, reports, and KPIs.
- Complete month-end/year-end close procedures to meet reporting deadlines.
- Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and manage short-term cash flows.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining annual budgets, reporting variances against actuals.
- Prepare and file quarterly UK VAT returns and assist with bi-monthly Irish & Dutch VAT returns.
- Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile balance sheet nominal accounts accurately.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Provide detailed sales reports and profitability analysis by customer.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified or qualified by experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
- Business acumen with strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical thinking.
