Project Estimator

We are seeking a dedicated Estimator to join our growing clients team. This role involves estimating and issuing quotations for client projects, developing client and supplier relationships, and ensuring the successful planning and execution of projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with our estimating and commercial teams to review and improve estimating procedures and systems.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Undertake estimating and issuing of quotations for assigned client projects, including site visits, assessing drawings, and reviewing specifications.
- Collaborate with the estimating and commercial team to review and enhance current estimating procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring Midas is included on relevant tender lists.
- Coordinate the planning and preparation of won projects, including RAMS requests, supplier terms and conditions, and contract issuance.
- Manage the procurement of project materials, plant, and subcontractors, ensuring all project labour requirements are identified and arranged prior to project commencement.
- Liaise with the appointed Quantity Surveyor to ensure all relevant project information and documents are accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and site management for the projects you oversee.
- Promote a professional image and maintain good working relationships with clients, addressing any potential issues in alignment with the company's values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project estimation within the construction or related industry.
- Strong ability to assess project drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with both commercial teams and suppliers.
- Ability to implement and improve estimating procedures and systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the capability to plan and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
