What you'll do:
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement of services and equipment for our client's projects. You will be responsible for administering procurement processes, working closely with project teams, supporting the procurement team in prequalifying supply chain partners, assessing quotes, presenting tender recommendations, and expediting delivery. Your ability to build strong relationships with clients through professional conduct will be key to your success in this role.
- Administer the process of procuring services and equipment for the company's projects
- Work closely with project teams and customers to deliver a service that fully meets their requirements
- Support the procurement and supply chain team with the prequalification of existing and new supply chain partners
- Assess all quotes/commercial terms as well as leading all technical and commercial analysis
- Present and gain approval of the Tender Recommendations from the Customers in accordance with the Procurement Strategy and Schedule
- Expedite and support with engineering and construction teams to deliver procured items in accordance with the Project Schedule
What you bring:
The ideal Buyer candidate brings relevant procurement experience within construction or related industries. She possesses strong communication skills, particularly in influencing and negotiating both internally and externally. She has proven her ability to work well within a team of other professionals such as engineers or designers. Her excellent time management skills allow her to effectively manage her own time across multiple tasks or projects and prioritise her workload. She has a keen eye for detail and strives to produce right first time. An understanding of the Engineering Design process is preferable, and a full UK driving license is required.
- Relevant procurement experience within construction or related industries
- Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally
- Ability to work well within a team of other professionals (engineers, designers etc.) in delivering services to satisfy the agreed brief
- Ability to effectively manage own time across multiple tasks/projects and prioritise workload
- Keen eye for detail and an ability to produce right first time
- Understanding of the Engineering Design process (preferable)
- Full UK driving license
