Audit Assistant Manager

Position Overview:

Our client are seeking a highly skilled Audit Assistant Manager to lead their audit team, reporting direct into a Partner at the practice. As an integral part of the firm, you will oversee audit engagements, drive process improvements, and contribute to the strategic vision of the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements for a variety of clients across different industries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on audit matters and providing valuable insights to enhance their business operations.
  • Coordinate audit planning, execution, and reporting processes, including risk assessment, materiality determination, and audit testing.
  • Review and evaluate audit work papers, financial statements, and related disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Mentor and coach audit team members, providing guidance on technical matters, professional development, and performance improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function, implementing best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development of firm-wide policies, procedures, and methodologies to support their modernisation and transformation goals.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, emerging trends, and industry developments relevant to auditing and accounting standards.
  • Act as the point of contact for the audit team to alleviate pressure on the audit partner

Requirements

To be successful with your application you must have:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified
  • Proven experience in external auditing within a public accounting firm, with a focus on managing audit engagements and client relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop team members, drive results, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
