Teach Plus is working with a "Good" school with "Outstanding" pupil behaviour stated by Ofsted. This school is a very community-based school looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant in September 2024.
The school is equally passionate about developing in pupils a love of reading. The school priorities reading right from the early years. The school offers a creative, stimulating curriculum and learning environment, encouraging pupils to be confident and socialise with their community.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be expected to:
- Have previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary educational setting.
- Experience with autistic students and have the ability to communicate with verbal and non-verbal students.
- Keep detailed records of the child's progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant staff members.
- Aid the child in accessing the curriculum, providing differentiated instruction and support tailored to his individual learning needs.
The SEN Teaching Assistant Vacancy:
- Provide individualized support to a Year 3 autistic boy, assisting with his daily learning activities and helping him navigate the school environment.
- Utilize verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, including the use of visual aids, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and other relevant tools to facilitate effective communication.
- Ensuring the child's comfort and well-being throughout the school day.
- Full-time applicants only; Monday - Friday, between the hours 08:00-16:00.
The ideal candidate for a SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo one.
- Right-to-Work Documents.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in childcare, early years education, or a related field.
- Compassion and empathy.
