Senior Motor Trade Underwriter - Manchester

Due to expansion our longstanding insurer client is looking for a Senior Motor Trade Underwriter. It will be a mixture of new business and renewals across a select panel of brokers.

Your role:

  • Profitably develop and underwrite Motor Trade Risks through a panel of brokers, with the opportunity to underwrite face to face.
  • Supporting the commercial account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with regional brokers.
  • Alongside the BDMs, prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimising sales and retention.
  • Provide excellent service levels to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge the commercial insurance and broking market.
  • Provide technical assistance, take referrals and provide guidance to colleagues.

Your experience and skills:

  • Experience in underwriting and trading commercial Motor Trade products.
  • A detailed knowledge of the NW broker market.
  • Proven relationship management skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives.
  • Minimum Cert CII. Dip CII, or progress towards, is preferred.
  • Proven effective and strong trading skills including prospecting and optimising new business and retention.
  • A strong and decisive approach to underwriting.
  • The ability to work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals.
