Senior Finance Reporting Analyst -12m Contract

We are recruiting for a role for a Senior Finance Reporting Analyst to join our client on a 12 month fixed term contract.

As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing detailed financial reports for the Chief Financial Officer. Your role will involve supporting key initiatives to automate and streamline reporting processes, such as populating a central data lake with all reported data and automating certain reports using Power BI. You'll ensure the implementation of effective controls and reconciliations, both automated and manual, and work towards enhancing the alignment of financial reporting between Finance and other departments. You'll have the authority to identify and address errors while aiming to improve the quality and timeliness of report delivery.

This role is hybrid, with 40% of the week being spent within the office in London or Ipswich, depending which is closer for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure the accuracy of core Group reports by implementing effective automated and manual controls and reconciliations.
  • Review, coordinate, and analyze reporting submissions, continuously seeking to enhance the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Prepare high-quality monthly financial performance packs and support key deliverables, including the Monthly Business Report for Group Finance.
  • Assist in drafting the Chief Financial Officer's notes and Board reports, ensuring they are of high quality and free of errors.
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships across the business, leading to a deep understanding of the reporting process.
  • Collaborate with operating company teams to improve the quality of their commentary and ensure they understand reporting requirements.
  • Support the Finance Lead in re-engineering existing reporting processes, working with the project team and UK&I Finance teams to automate the population of the Finance data lake.
  • Implement effective automated controls and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of reported data. Establish and agree on monthly reporting processes to meet all regular and ad-hoc deadlines.
  • Work with the Project team and report contributors to transition from current reports to Power BI-based reporting, ensuring the new reports fully meet customer requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Qualification in ACA, ACCA or CIMA is preferred.
  • Experience of developing quality clear and reliable financial information.
  • Ability to gain feedback from customer groups and achievement of agreed service standards and timescales.
  • Proficient to acquire feedback from Group Finance, including the Finance Director's and peers in the Finance Community.
  • Experience of providing high quality communication with internal customers and other team members.
  • Good understanding of delivery to customer requirements.
  • Experience in project management and process re-engineering.
  • Knowledge of contributing to the development and implementation of effective systems and processes.
  • Motivated to develop skills, with the ability to work in a timely manner.
