An esteemed educational institution in Birmingham is seeking a Motor Vehicle Lecturer with a passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering motor vehicle courses, including level 2 Autocare apprenticeships, in both practical workshops and classroom settings.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design and deliver engaging and informative lessons in both practical and theoretical aspects of motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Provide instruction on level 2 Autocare apprenticeships, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience and knowledge.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect the latest industry standards and technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best teaching practices.
  • Engage with students to inspire and motivate them towards a career in the automotive industry.
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment that complies with health and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or equivalent.
  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English.
  • Recent and relevant industrial experience in light motor vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • An assessor qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience or qualification in Electric and Hybrid vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
