Are you passionate about supporting children with challenging behavior, severe learning difficulties, and disabilities? We are looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join an inspiring special school in Liverpool (L8) on a full-time, long-term basis.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide 1-1 and small group support for students with severe learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Help manage challenging behaviors in a calm, constructive, and supportive manner
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
  • Support students' emotional well-being, fostering resilience and social skills
  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all

Key Qualities of a Great SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Patience and empathy: You'll need a calm, compassionate approach when working with students facing significant challenges.
  • Resilience: Supporting students with challenging behavior requires strength, determination, and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: You'll need to be able to adjust your approach to suit the needs of individual students.
  • Teamwork: Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff is crucial to delivering the best outcomes for students.
  • Experience in SEND or SEMH settings is a big plus, but a genuine passion for helping students succeed is just as important.
