Long-term teachers are supporting a special school with the recruitment of their Catering Teacher vacancy. They are a beautiful school situated on stunning grounds in Wiltshire and they look after students predominantly with ASD.

They do require someone urgently for this position as it provides a vital service to the students, the students massively enjoy catering as a subject! The school are open to a wide range of applications, so whatever your experience - I would love to have an initial chat!

The role

This position is leading KS4 students classes where you will be ably supported by a catering assistant/TA. The catering kitchen is fairly new so you will have all the latest equipment and will be ably supported by other teachers in the department in planning your lessons.

The role is initially up till January but there's a very high chance of this role being extended and becoming something more permanent.

You will be expected to:

  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
  • Have experience of working with ASD.
  • Feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Plan your own lessons, following the school's curriculum.
  • Have ideally taught food tech/catering before
