The Product & Channels (P&C) team leads client-facing apps and web services, including the migration to a single V-App. We're transforming to enhance collaboration, encourage curiosity, and streamline operations for exceptional customer experiences. As such, our Head of Platform Optimisation is instrumental in managing risk, controls, and incident response within our P&C IT infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in aligning technology initiatives with our overall business strategy. You'll develop and maintain a comprehensive incident management process, allowing for quick response and resolution of incidents, ultimately contributing to our mission of becoming the UK's best digital bank.

What you'll be doing...

  • Lead the management of risk, controls, and incident response within the Product and Channels (P&C) IT infrastructure, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of robust risk management practices to address potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Provide appropriate progress updates to the CIO for P&C, centralised Risk Team, P&C Leadership Team and other Executive stakeholders, through both formal and informal channels, developing a close working relationship.

  • Liaise with impacted areas, ensuring a high level of effective communication is maintained throughout.

  • Implement, action, and maintain robust risk management practices to address potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Oversee vulnerability patching and ensure timely application of security updates.

  • Collaborate with the centralised risk teams to align risk management practices, oversee vulnerability patching, and provide strong program and stakeholder management. Support in addressing system incidents and journey failure issues in production.

  • Support the mitigate potential issues before they impact customers or business operations.

  • Develop and maintain a robust incident management process to quickly respond to and resolve incidents.

  • Lead the analysis and coordination of root cause (familiar with the controls framework).

  • Track implementation and progress of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Adopt a proactive strategy to identify and address vulnerabilities, whilst tracking and monitoring the implementation process to ensure security and efficiency.

  • Oversee and track currency, resiliency, operational and security risk.

  • Build a team to meet the necessary demand to support P&C risk management and incident response.

  • Effectively manage the costs associated with the delivery and maintenance of technical solutions aligned to value creation.

We need you to have...

  • Proven experience in leading risk management and overseeing the execution of remediation.
  • Strong understanding of technology and operational risk management frameworks and standards, and incident response practices.
  • Familiarity with the control's frameworks and experience in leading root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Understanding of operational, currency, and resiliency risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic risk management plans.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and take proactive measures to prevent them.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • An understanding of the financial industry, regulatory requirements, and security standards relevant to digital banking.
  • Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
  • ITIL certification for IT service management best practices.
