Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Part-Time/Full-Time School Cook to join our team in Birmingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about providing nutritious and delicious meals for students. For candidates with the ability to teach basic cookery, this position can be extended to full-time.

Job Requirements of this School Cook job in Birmingham

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals for students in accordance with school guidelines and dietary requirements as a school cook.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a diverse and appealing menu that meets the nutritional needs of students as a school cook.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and served on time, maintaining high-quality standards as a school cook.
  • Monitor food inventory, place orders for supplies, and manage the kitchen budget effectively as a school cook.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace as a school cook.
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and allergies, providing alternative menu options as required as a school cook.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming dining atmosphere for students and staff as a school cook.
  • Collaborate with school administrators to implement and update menu plans based on feedback and nutritional guidelines as a school cook.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices as a school cook.
  • Teach basic cookery skills to students if extending to a full-time position as a school cook.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned as a school cook

This is a part-time position with 20 hours per week during school hours, with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate with the ability to teach basic cookery.
