Job Title: Traffic Management Supervisor
Location: Newyears Green Ln, Harefield, Newyears Green, Uxbridge UB9 6LX
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Monday to Friday
About Us:
Envar is a producer and supplier of high-quality soil improver, woodland garden mulch, wood chip and biomass. We operate green waste composting sites across England, we also process food waste. In addition to composting Envar also recycle coffee grounds.
About the role:
The Banksman will be responsible for directing the movement and loading/unloading of lorries and directing the movement of mobile plant. The banksman will also control the movements of excavator or other mobile plant, by carefully monitoring the bucket for any obstructions and other vehicle movements and pedestrians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Awareness and confidence to control all vehicles on site and direct to the relevant departments, ensuring one-way systems and speed limits are always obeyed.
- Experienced in using practical techniques and hand signals to assist drivers in all manoeuvres.
- Ensure pedestrian routes are adhered to.
- Ensure visibility by wearing hi visible clothing, such as reflective trousers /shirt/coat at all times.
- Always have clear and effective communication with drivers through use of the 2-way radio.
- Report to the Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors on any near miss incidents involving vehicle movements in the yard.
