Job Purpose
To lead and develop the new business team, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and the development of a robust sales pipeline. This role involves setting clear objectives, tracking performance, and providing regular feedback to team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the new business team to achieve monthly sales target
- Set clear sales objectives, measure progress, and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring a minimum of 25 active opportunities per team member
- Generate and qualify leads based on Depot Areas
- Track and manage pipeline activities in Excel (for now)
- Ensure daily tracking and reporting of actuals vs. targets
- Set KPIs for the business daily and build reports to track PPL evolution and KPIs
- Report new business pipeline twice weekly
- Ensure team can measurably demonstrate progress month-on-month
- Regularly report sales performance to senior management, highlighting successes and challenges
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and accounts
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally
- Implement new processes within the team to increase efficiency
- Manage 1-2-1 meetings every 3 months
Person Specification
- Several years of experience in sales
- Management experience
- Leadership skills that inspire and motivate a sales team
- Proven ability to drive sales process from plan to close
- Excellent time management skills to maximise ability to reach goals
- Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
