Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

RM Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with a brilliant organisation based in Perry Bar who are seeking a well-experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a part-time, temporary basis working 16 hours per week for circa 4-8 weeks with the scope to be extended. As the ideal candidate you will be immediately available or available on short notice.

You will be responsible for managing the company's purchase ledger, ensuring that supplier invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. You will support the finance team with a range of administrative and accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the system
  • Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any discrepancies
  • Processing petty cash
  • Prepare and process supplier payments, including BACS and cheque payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage queries related to accounts payable
  • Assist with month-end purchase ledger reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger records
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any payment issues
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Purchase Ledger role is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Access Finance/SMS) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with suppliers and colleagues professionally
  • Ability to work independently, managing workload to meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
