As a Software Project Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our product certification, manufacturing output, and support activities!

Job Title: Software Project Leader

Salary: Circa £45,000 to £75,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage or Bristol (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 3 to 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Join MBDA as a Software Project Leader (for Land and Maritime Environment Simulators) and play a crucial role in delivering our world-class missile systems. As part of the Simulation Software UK team, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business and other areas of Software Engineering to ensure a robust and timely test capability. You will be involved in the development and support of software packages that enhance the conformance and quality of our advanced MBDA UK product range.

Working in a dynamic and agile team, you will specialise in all aspects of test solution design, including software, hardware, simulation, and real-time systems. This role offers exceptional learning opportunities, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of our entire product portfolio while embracing the latest DevOps and innovative technologies.

  • Act as the Software Design Authority, ensuring quality standards and processes are met while providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
  • Lead, empower, and draw the best from a team of individuals who consistently demonstrate strong work ethics and a growth mindset.
  • Collaborate with members of the Group to identify improvement opportunities and support their successful implementation.
  • Keep track of and communicate the project timeline, collaborating with the team to achieve important deadlines and prioritise tasks when necessary.
  • Generate monthly team workload forecasts.
  • Liaise directly with internal and external customers to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Have an awareness of allocated project budgets and ensure efficient utilisation of resources.
  • Support the creation of project and release documentation.
