Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Trainer Assessor in Electrical Installation to join the Apprenticeships team. This role involves managing a caseload of learners and delivering expert training, coaching, mentoring, and assessment to ensure their successful completion of apprenticeship programmes and qualifications.

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent (37 hours/week)
Salary: £25,918 - £39,004 per annum
Annual Leave: 27–34 days (based on length of service), plus bank holidays

Key Responsibilities of the Trainer Assessor – Electrical Installation:
1. Training and Learner Support:
- Manage an agreed caseload of learners, providing high-quality training and support both at College and in the workplace.
- Serve as the main point of contact for learners and employers, fostering positive relationships and providing progress feedback.
- Conduct initial learner assessments and develop individual learning plans to guide their apprenticeship progression.
- Design training plans incorporating Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) to prepare learners for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA).
2. Instruction and Assessment:
- Deliver engaging training sessions to develop learner KSBs and ensure EPA readiness.
- Regularly review learner progress, set targets, and provide developmental feedback.
- Maintain detailed records and adhere to quality assurance processes, managing e-portfolios and assessment documentation.
- Organise assessments, ensuring learners have equal access to assessment opportunities.
3. Administrative and Support Duties:
- Interview prospective learners and conduct assessments to ensure the programme is suitable for their needs.
- Complete necessary documentation for learner registration, completion, or withdrawal.
- Maintain an electronic diary of workplace visits, adhering to lone working policies.
- Ensure off-the-job training is planned, tracked, and effectively monitored.
4. Health and Safety and Compliance:
- Promote best practices in health and safety for all training activities.
- Ensure learners are informed of their health and safety obligations and provide guidance accordingly.
- Engage in CPD and complete mandatory training as required.
5. Employer Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong employer relationships to support learner progress and secure new business.
- Represent the College at industry events to promote programmes and recruit new learners.
- Collaborate with End Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs) to support learner outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Trainer Assessor – Electrical Installation:
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational area.
- Level 3 TAQA or equivalent assessing qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Recent vocational experience with a commitment to ongoing CPD.
- Strong caseload management, communication, and IT skills.
Desirable:
- Industry-specific qualifications and familiarity with awarding body standards.
- Experience mentoring apprentices and using e-portfolios.
- Experience in further education or training environments.
