The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
Day to day of the role:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective EAL lessons that cater to the individual needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Develop individualized learning plans to meet the diverse needs of each student.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student development across the curriculum.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, contributing to the vibrant school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Education, TESOL, or a related field.
- Experience teaching EAL students at secondary school level.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest educational research and teaching strategies.
