Description
- Utilise SolidWorks and SWOOD to develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of joinery products, ensuring accuracy and precision in design.
- Develop CNC programs directly from CAD models using SWOOD CAM tools, optimizing tool paths for efficiency and precision in the manufacturing process.
- Design and oversee the creation of prototypes using CNC machines, allowing for practical testing and validation of design concepts before full-scale production.
- Select and recommend suitable materials, considering both functionality and cost-effectiveness. Optimize design for minimal material waste and efficient production using CNC machining.
- Work closely with CNC operators, production managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing, addressing any technical issues that arise.
- Support quality checks on designs and final products, ensuring they meet industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Adjust designs based on feedback to maintain high-quality output
Profile
A successful Design Engineer should have:
- Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
