Hays are working with a business in Shrewsbury on a permanent basis, working with them to recruit an IT Administrator on a permanent basis. This role would be to provide first line support for all business IT needs including SAP B1,Office 365 (including Outlook & Excel), general computer/server hardware and software.
Your new role
As an IT Administrator, your role will involve the following:
- First point of contact in the business for general IT related issues and keeping office equipment tidy and organised along with answering the department main phone.
- Maintaining the IT Service desk, adhering to SLA's
- New User setup and deployment.
- Deactivation of Leavers.
- Local and hosted servers, maintaining backups and general maintenance are required, as well as Active Directory, Group Policy settings and VPN.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot and support computer hardware, operating systems, and applications (Phones, PC's, Printers, Monitors, RF guns, etc) and update asset register.
- Keeping company devices within warranty and replacing where needed.
- Maintain and update company Network to keep office secure and up to date.
- Fully manage, setup and organise the Company file structure and various syncs to cloud.
- Documentation of IT processes and workflows.
- Keep Office Displays updated with latest information & connected hardware and equipment.
- CCTV maintenance for the office and warehouses
- Department purchases (Laptops, Monitors, Mice, Cable, etc)
- Quarterly IT Department Survey to always ensure best service.
- General Software implementation and training for the business.
- Assist Head of IT & IT Manager with ongoing and individually assigned projects.
- Keeping company systems compliant with latest standards
What you'll need to succeed
- More than basic secondary education (eg. Possessing A-C GCSE's or equivalent) and/or some further education
- A professional / vocational qualification from a recognised post-secondary institution A natural aptitude and interest in IT with a willingness to progress and develop Experience of using the
- Windows client and server Operating Systems & Microsoft Office
