Junior Production Planner

Job Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Junior Production Planner for our client in the Bridgend area. An exciting opportunity to develop a career in production, within the planning and procurement department. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating production workflow in the planning and procurement department to ensure the timely completion of orders while maintaining high standards of quality control and efficiency. This could be the perfect opportunity for a recent A-Level leaver who is looking for an alternative career pathway that isn't university! Our client will provide full training in the role if you are successful.

Responsibilities:

Daily:

  • Demand planning - predicting future stock levels to balance supply and demand
  • Checking potential out of stocks / over stocks
  • Progressing delivery of purchase orders with vendors
  • Information to customers / customer services / sales team on stock availability
  • Approval to forwarder for shipments from Far East
  • Updating container schedule with latest shipping information, new orders, vessels, ETAs
  • Checking SAFs (Sales amendment forms) to ensure stock availability
  • Checking vendor invoices and arranging deposit / balance payments to agreed terms
  • Booking customer FOB orders through SAP and producing delivery notes / invoices, sending the shipping documents to the customer

Monthly:

  • Analyse Sales by product report
  • Review Actual Sales vs Forecast, if large variances discuss with sales and amend ongoing requirements accordingly
  • Review safety stock levels and update MRP accordingly
  • Supply reports such as Supplier spends / Sea Freights costs / Usages / Forecast spends

Weekly:

  • Preparing proposals for vendor orders / checking stocks and requirements against forecast / actual Sales / historical data.
  • Calculating Stock requirements into container loadings
  • Placing orders and agreeing delivery dates for stock with vendors
  • Completing customer availability reports ( BHS / Days )
  • Direct Delivery of Containers to customers - Arranging Booking Dates /Times via Customer services / Customer, Ensuring correct paperwork delivery details are given to Forwarder
  • Analyse Customer Sales reports (epos )
  • Checking & Updating Excess List
  • Checking Invoices for sea freight to agreed rates

Annually:

  • Review and grade suppliers

Hours:

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

Pay:

The salary will range between 23k-25k per annum
