This well-established leading engineering company based in Farnborough is looking for a Finance & Administration Manager to lead the day-to-day functions of the Accounting, Financial and Administration activities. This is a varied and demanding role offering the opportunity to contribute both at an operational and strategic level.

Finance & Administration Manager - About The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will oversee the department, always ensuring availability of current information regarding the company's assets, results, solvency and liquidity.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage Finance & Administration Department staff, set targets, and conduct regular appraisals
  • Supervise task distribution within the administration department, ensuring relevant assignments
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and other departments, providing proactive financial support and advice
  • Maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budget-holder reports, and other financial reports
  • Identify and explain significant trends or variances in reports
  • Coordinate the year-end file for auditors and oversee the annual audit
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of revenue returns
  • Manage general office issues such as central stationery, office supplies, and copier agreements
  • Assist the HR Manager of E-TEC Power International with HR functions related to personnel, recruitment, training, and welfare
  • Contribute to designing and updating the accounting and administrative organisation to comply with legal and company regulations

The successful Finance & Administration Manager will have/be:

  • Experience of leading finance and administration departments in organisations of similar size
  • Experience of managing a team (5+ years)
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office
  • Effective and adaptable communication style to a wide audience
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, contributing to the Senior Management Team's strategy
  • Keen analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills for informed decision-making
  • Part qualified in Accounting/Finance or QBE considered
