Finance Manager
Morgan Hunt is working with a College in South London who are looking at recruiting a Finance Manager. This is a 3-month contract role paying up to £32 p/hour and will be based in the office 4 days p/week.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Work closely with the Local Authority Corporate Finance team, adhere to Council policies.
- Lead the preparation of the College's annual budgets, ensuring alignment with guidelines, and maintain the financial health of the College.
- Provide strategic financial advice, aligning budget forecasts with college business planning and curriculum development.
- Oversee monthly budget reviews, assess value for money, and manage financial risks, ensuring expenditures stay within budget.
- Prepare and present financial reports, ensure data reconciliation across systems, and support year-end account closure.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Manager:
- Part qualified CCAB accountancy or AAT qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Must have previously worked in a college.
- Previously been a Finance Manager.
- Excellent understanding of Council priorities and national/regional guidelines for Adult and Community learning, with experience in providing constructive financial challenge in a Local Authority context.
