Position: Interim Building Surveyor

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Duration: 3 months
-
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Daily rate: 300 per day

Responsibilities:
-
Manage the specification and delivery of works to ensure all homes meet the council's standards.
-
Minimise void times, rental loss, and waiting times for new tenants.
-
Monitor the progress of works to ensure they are carried out safely and to the required standard and timescale.

Provide professional building surveying services for various types of buildings.
-
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules of works for tendering and quotations.

Administer contracts, issue certificates, variation orders, and certify contract payments and final accounts.

Visit sites to ensure work is carried out according to contract documentation.

Prepare budget estimates, costs, and outline specifications during the design process.

Identify building defects and provide recommendations for repair, preparing estimates as required.

Requirements:
-
Chartered building surveyor qualification.
-
Experience in instructing and overseeing repairs and health and safety work.

Experience in managing client contracts and compliance work.
-
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload within agreed targets.

Knowledge of building construction and relevant health and safety requirements/legislation.
