Are you an experienced Software Development Engineer looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading retail organisation in the industry, is seeking a talented SDE III to join their team on a temporary contract basis for 6 months. If you are passionate about security, possess strong coding skills, and have a deep understanding of tech stacks, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Role: SDE III (Software Development Engineer)
Duration: 6 Months
Location: London (3 Days in Office)
Rate: £750 - £850 per day (umbrella)
Role Requirements:
- Conduct research to identify security patterns in selected software technology stacks across Apps and APIs.
- Develop code snippets or blocks to enable security defaults in the software tech stacks.
- Create reusable security packages or hardened tech stacks to seamlessly integrate into diverse development projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support for the seamless implementation of security packages.
- Resolve any technical implementation issues or constraints reported by software engineering teams during beta trials.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, particularly Python, JavaScript, and Java (Micronaut/Spring Boot).
- Strong security design thinking with knowledge of threat modelling and secure coding techniques.
- Deep understanding of authentication, authorisation, cryptography, and integration.
- Good hands-on software development experience with a focus on security-focused development.
- Experience developing APIs with RESTful services, GraphQL, gRPC, and familiarity with Node.js for server-side development.
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases such as Couchbase/Redis and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps (GitHub Actions), and GitOps tools.
- Experience with cloud-native services (Azure, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, etc.).
- Familiarity with security tools and frameworks such as OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.
