Stock Controller Required!

Our client is a family owned business, trading for over 30 years they are a leading manufacturer and distributor of windows and door hardware.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a proactive and dedicated Stock Controller to manage their inventory and purchase stock based on forecasted need. The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting requirements, placing orders, tracking shipments, overseeing quality control of incoming goods, inventory audits and maintaining reports of purchases and pricing. The ideal candidate will be familiar with supply chain procedures and have good communication skills to interact with vendors, clients and internal teams.

This is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm based in Hinxton, Cambridgeshire.

Package:

  • Company pension scheme
  • Salary of £25,000
  • Opportunity to earn two discretionary bonuses annually, based on company profit

Stock Controller - Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS)
  • Enter purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases
  • Place orders to replenish stock as needed
  • Track shipments and address any delays
  • Carry out goods-in inspection and quality control
  • Evaluate suppliers' offers and negotiate profitable deals
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments)
  • Ensure purchases do not exceed budget

Stock Controller - Requirements

  • Due to the location, you must have a license and access to a vehicle
  • Proven work experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Manager or similar role
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. Sage)
  • Previous active participation in inventory audits
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities
