A major engineering and defence business in Barrow-In-Furness with an excellent global reputation are looking to welcome a number of experienced Procurement and Supply Chain professionals into their growing team. Due to a secure and growing pipeline of work, this business is recruiting for multiple commercially-minded procurement and supply chain professionals to join the company on a permanent basis. They have won multiple awards and are one of the undisputed leaders within their industry.

Your new role
The Procurement Coordinator / Buyer will support the wider procurement team with day-to-day procurement and supply chain activity to ensure the smooth functioning of the procurement department. This will entail supporting supply chain activity relating to cost, quality and timely delivery, as well as supporting with contract management activity. The Procurement Coordinator will print purchase order (PO) numbers and will use the likes of Microsoft Excel and SAP to extract, manipulate and interpret data ready to report to more senior colleagues in the procurement team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a procurement, supply chain or merchandising role - ideally within a corporate / office environment
  • Good level of IT experience, including MS Office and ideally software such as SAP or similar ERP/MRP
  • A confident communicator and able to speak with stakeholders of all seniority levels
  • A highly organised individual who is able to successfully juggle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight to meet with suppliers and key stakeholders
