Overview
The primary objective of the purchase ledger clerk is to manage all aspects of purchase ledger and to assist in supporting the Finance Director with data entry into the Sage accountancy system.
Main Duties
- Assist Finance Department in answering accounts telephone calls.
- Processing of Purchase invoices received via email (unique code/distribute/update spreadsheet)
- Check supplier statements against PO on Sage accounts system.
- Liaise with Depts re missing PO on Sage accounts.
- Enter purchase invoices into the Sage line 50 from CRM system ensuring correct nominal codes/depts are allocated to enable accurate P&L forecasting.
- Assist Finance Director with payments of Purchase Invoices.
- Processing of company credit card statements.
- Processing of supplier questionnaires as and when received.
- Assist in setting up new supplier accounts.
- To Assist with covering Finance dept during sickness & holiday periods.
- Type and word-process various documents and electronic information.
- Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
- Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between suppliers and relevant staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and Supervisors/Account Managers.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
Benefits
£25k+ dependant on experience.
Hours of work Monday to Thursday 08:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 08:00am - 4:00pm
25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
