Role Overview:

As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services. You will be responsible for planning and optimising routes, managing schedules, and coordinating with drivers and clients to meet delivery deadlines. Your expertise will contribute to improving our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimise transport plans and routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to manage schedules and address any issues.
  • Monitor transport operations and make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Analyse transport data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare regular reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of transport policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar role within the logistics/transport industry.
  • Strong knowledge of transport planning software and tools.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with transport legislation, regulations and safety standards.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
