This company, established in 1962, have a rich history of growth, industry leading development and ambition. Supplying into utilities, transportation, energy and industrial sectors they have an extensive list of clients including Scottish Power, ABB and Network Rail. By overseeing large transmission projects they have built up a reputation for engineering excellence and they're now looking for a likeminded director who can exemplify the company standards.
As the Engineering Director, your visionary mindset will help to contribute towards a long term plan of maximum efficiency and rapid company expansion. Your ambition should supplement a willingness to overcome objections as you attempt to identify non-core business opportunities and present such options to your peers. Your organisational skills should facilitate a clear direction with necessary steps to ensure this well-established company stay far ahead of its competitors.
This role would suit a meticulous Engineer Director who comes from a hands-on engineer background within the High Voltage Substation industry with a proven track record of technical leadership aspiring to leave their mark permanently with in a well-established but rapidly growing organisation. The Role:
- Constant development of the engineering team and creation of an Indian engineering team
- Input into the 5 year financial plan identifying opportunities to maximise profits and minimise costs
- Act as a representative of the company in BEAMA meetings
- Conduct thorough process reviews to identify targets for improvement
- Act as a driving for behind new projects and services
- Identify potential non-core business opportunities, present such to fellow directors and open up new lines of business
- Identify group level business opportunities and expand cliental
- Travell overseas every two to three months to meet with potential or existing clients, maintaining business relationships
- Assist with the existing global growth plan and offer suggestions to how this should be developed
The Person:
- BSc in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience and time served within the Control, Protection or Automation industry
- Proven experience leading a team
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion when required
- Transmission and distribution experience
