CNC Milling Programmer/Setter/Operator

Our client based in the Aldershot area is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Programmer/Setter/Operator to work on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose of Job:

You will programme, set up and operate CNC milling machines in accordance with competence, knowledge and the company's policies and procedures, ensuring that products are manufactured and delivered within required time frames and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme and set up milling machines in accordance with engineers' drawings including downloading programmes into the machinery, loading proper cutting tools and mounting, installing, aligning & securing workpieces onto the machine
  • Calculate machine speed and feed ratios and the size and position of cuts
  • Test run machine, verify parts to drawings, consult with Quality Manager as required and continue to inspect parts for quality throughout the run
  • Change and adjust machine parameters and tooling as required to meet dimensional and output requirements
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance and repair tasks such as adjusting, fluid checks, replacing minor parts and lubricating equipment
  • Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow
  • Responsible for daily inspection and cleaning of the milling machines, tooling and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition
  • Meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards
  • Lift workpieces to machines manually or with the use of hoists/cranes
  • Keep the working environment clean and tidy and practise good housekeeping
  • Work in accordance to the quality system and processes of the company
  • Adhere to the company's health and safety requirements and complete training as required

Skills and Qualifications/experience:

  • Relevant experience in engineering and working in a similar field/industry would be beneficial. (training will be given)
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup and operation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • To be a quick learner and adaptable to change
  • Be proactive and a great team player
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines

Hours:

Full-time permanent role, 40 hours/week

Mon - Thur, 07:00 – 15:45, Fri, 06:00 – 13:00
