Have you recently graduated from Secondary/College or University? Not sure your next step but have an interest working with children?

Why not apply to the School leaver - Teaching Assistant role? You will be joining an inclusive team to support the needs of Primary school children in KS1/KS2 - covering years from Reception to Year 6.

Your time will be split between all the KS1/KS2 year groups, depending on the timetable and activities planned.

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm with a lunch break.
  • Term time only (academic term time)

School leaver - Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class KS1/KS2 teacher with all activities.
  • Creating a positive environment where all Newbury pupils can excel and learn creatively.
  • Observing and assessing individual pupil development on Literacy, Phonics, Numeracy.
  • Offering 1:1 support to SEN children (dealing with dyslexia, ADHD, Autism and other learning disabilities). Those select group of Newbury students need adapted techniques such as blue screen, now and next educational tools to access the KS1/KS2 curriculum.

Experience:

  • Working with children (eg. Tutoring): 1 year (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • GCSE (must have Maths and English) - Minimum grade 4/C (required)
  • 2:1 degree (Psychology, Sociology and Criminology (preferred, not required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
