Overview
We are working with a MD who is recruiting with long-term progression in mind for his next Head of Finance. The position will see you act as number one in Finance for a busy site, managing a small and capable team and gain plenty of exposure to board and senior management.
Reporting directly to the MD of the business in a number 1 finance role and leading a finance team of 3, you will oversee month-end accounting, financial accounting and management accounts, VAT returns and financial reporting via effective management of your finance team. Your technical background will see you confidently lead year end audit and your experience within a manufacturing background will ensure you implement robust controls relating to stock.
Furthermore, you will be tasked with the provision of business intelligence, financial information, commercial insight and meaningful management reports to the MD - informing him of the financial position of the business at any given time, and allowing the senior management team to make informed strategic decisions to shape the long-term future of the business.
This could be great for somebody taking a side-step as they are lacking that progression plan in their current business. It could also work for an ambitious and capable up-and-comer, hungry for that next step. As you will business partner the entire senior management team in providing sound strategic direction, the next step will be Finance Director title and this route is already carved out for you.
What is required;
- You need to be fully Qualified by ACA/ACCA/CIMA. This is a role that requires hands on technical knowledge.
- You must have experience within a manufacturing environment.
- We need a strong communicator, the exposure to board will require you to effectively and confidently liaise with them!
- This role is five days a week on site. Those of you in manufacturing will get it, sometimes you just need to be there! Don't let a little office time get in the way of your Finance Director dreams!
