My client, an international freight and shipping company, is looking for an experienced Import Clerk for this office-based, 4 on, 4 off position. The Import Clerk will handle all modes of transport and will work well under pressure in this fast-paced and ever-changing operational environment, whilst providing excellent customer service.
Main duties:
- Creating ETSF records and releasing cargo.
- Arranging collections of cargo from various UK airports.
- Handling T1 and Import clearances for Air, Road, and Sea cargo movements.
- Directly dealing with customer requests via email, WeChat, and telephone.
- Completing job bookings and processing all import documentation.
- Preparing job files for invoicing.
- Coordinating with various external suppliers as required.
Key requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years in import customs clearance procedures across air, road and sea.
- Experience using ASM Sequoia and Box-Top preferred (training provided).
- Ability to work under pressure and provide excellent customer service.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Computer literate with good keyboard and communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong team ethic.
Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off, working 12 hours per shift with a 1-hour lunch break. Shifts vary as follows:
- 07:00 – 19:00
- 09:00 – 21:00
- 10:00 – 22:00
