Junior Mechanical Fitter (Rotating Equipment)

£40,000 - £45,000 + Training + Day Shifts + Overtime (1.5x, after 10pm 2.0x)
Are you a Fitter or similar from a Mechanical background looking for a role offering expert training on a hard-to-find skillset, where you will be trained 1-on-1 to become a professional winder?
Are you looking for a role offering a stable day shift and opportunities to increase your earnings significantly through overtime?
On offer is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering firm with a long 75 year history of innovation. You'll be part of a skilled team responsible for the repair and maintenance of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. You'll receive ongoing training and be paid overtime at 1.5x and after 10 pm paid at double time.
In this role, you will focus on repairing AC/DC motors, diagnosing faults, and conducting root cause analysis. You'll also be responsible for logging work into the job control system and contributing to the development of engineering apprentices.
The ideal candidate will have experience in motor and pump repair and a qualification in electro-mechanical engineering. You will also need to hold a full UK driving license.
The role
- Repairing and rewinding an array of equipment (Training on winding)
- Fault diagnosing and analysis
- Potential travel to client sites
The person
- Have a background in Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with motors and pumps
- Commutable to St Helens and a full UK driving licence
