As part of this transformation, Cotswold District Council is seeking a Campaign Manager to join its new Communications team.
You'll need to be focused on developing and executing a robust and measurable marketing and communications strategy that aligns closely with the aspirations of councillors and meets the needs of residents and the district.
Creative thinking, innovation, and collaboration will be key for exploring new channels and approaches to reach diverse audiences and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
As the Campaign Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving forward both proactive and reactive communications that align with the corporate plan. A supportive approach will be crucial for empowering the team and creating a positive working environment.
A focus on momentum is essential to ensure that initiatives are delivered effectively, whilst the individual's creative thinking will be vital for developing engaging and memorable content that resonates with the local community.
The Campaign Manager will be required to work closely with the Head of Communications to ensure all communications are aligned with the Council's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering effective communication strategies in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to take both a proactive and reactive approach.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee all campaign planning and ensure alignment with the Council's strategic goals. Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that support the Council's priorities, while working closely with the Head of Comms, heads of departments, and council members.
- Team Leadership: Cultivate a positive and productive team culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with the Head of Comms to cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and partners that would be connected to relevant campaign planning.
- External Communications: Work closely with the Head of Comms to develop and manage targeted external communications campaigns for key areas such as climate, housing, supporting communities, and the economy.
- Media Relations: Liaise with the Comms Manager to manage campaign-related press enquiries, media content, and proactive media planning to ensure consistent and relevant media messaging across the Council.
You will need
- Proven experience in a communications role, ideally within both the private and public sector
- Strong understanding and experience in utilising the wider communications mix, including internal and external communications
- Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
- Experience in crisis communications management and media relations
- Experience in budget management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- A passion for using communication to make a positive impact on communities
Special Conditions
