About the Job:

As a Financial Accountant, you will report to the Manager of Accounting & Finance and be responsible for managing General Ledger activities related to the EMEA region. This role is centred on UK and European financial operations, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and providing support during audits. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and improve processes in line with the company's growth.

Duties will include:

  • Overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual EMEA financial close processes, particularly for UK entities.
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Conducting monthly flux analysis and commenting on financial movements.
  • Preparing UK statutory accounts under IFRS and coordinating the UK statutory audit.
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly VAT returns and coordinating tax-related projects.
  • Collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors for both UK and European entities.
  • Evaluating and updating accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assisting with technical accounting projects, including lease accounting and financial instruments.

About the Successful Applicant:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3-5 years experience. A strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS is essential, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems is advantageous, and proficiency in MS Excel is required. The role suits someone proactive, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
