We are seeking a Loadmaster – Marine to join our team, based at our head office in Southampton with global travel required. The Loadmaster will be responsible for overseeing boat loading operations, ensuring adherence to Company SOPs, and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Adhere to and apply Company SOPs for boat loading operations.
  • Assess risks and ensure safe practice in all boat loading operations.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the safe and effective lifting and cradling of marine cargo.
  • Liaise with various teams and parties during operations, delivering informative briefs and tool box talks.
  • Command respect and attention to manage operations safely and with full control.
  • Supervise working teams, employees, and third-party contractors, providing a duty of care.
  • Inspect portable appliances, ladders, lifting equipment, and cradling assets, reporting to the Tech Team.
  • Perform basic repair and maintenance of lifting gear and cradling assets.
  • Prepare and maintain cradle assets, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
  • Manage the storage and dispatch of cradling and lifting gear assets, conducting stock checks as required.
  • Ensure safe storage of all equipment assets and segregation of out-of-date lifting equipment.

Accountabilities:

  • Adherence to Safe Systems of Work and SOPs to prevent accidents.
  • Cost reduction and budget-conscious spending during operations.
  • Compliance with all HR policies.
  • Timely consolidation of monthly visa and cash usage.
  • Preservation of cargo and prevention of damage during operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Physically capable of working in arduous conditions and environments, often as a lone worker.
  • Fork Lift License for industrial forklifts ranging from 2000kg to 12000 kg SWL.
  • Banksman Slinger certification.
  • Relevant training to support operations, including Working at Height, Safe use of Ladders, Portable Appliance Use, Manual Handling, and Lifting gear (Pre-use and Safe use).
