Job Title: Interim Estates Surveyor

Contract Type: Interim (6 Months)
Salary: Day Rate Negotiable Inside IR35
Our client, a local authority in Gloucestershire, is seeking an experienced Interim Estates Surveyor to join their team for a 6-month assignment. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of valuation and estates management, including acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease agreements, and rating and compensation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional valuation services and property management advice to the Council, ensuring best value in all property transactions.
- Conduct marketing and negotiations for the sale or lease of Council properties, preparing valuation reports as required for property transactions, feasibility studies, land estimates, and asset valuation purposes.
- Negotiate terms and charges with statutory authorities and other bodies for easements, wayleaves, licences, and rights of way affecting Council-owned land.
- Act as the expert witness in legal matters related to property and estates.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Estate Management or a relevant field.
- Membership of the Chartered Surveyors General Practice Division (RICS) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Relevant practical experience in estates and property management, with a proven ability to plan work activities within professional guidelines.
- Awareness of local government property practices and procedures.
