About the scheme

Join United Utilities' 3-year Graduate Programme in our Project Controls and Planning team and kickstart your career! Dive into the world of project management where you'll play a crucial role in delivering impactful projects. As a Project Controls and Planning Graduate, you'll be at the heart of our operations, using cutting-edge techniques to keep projects on track and within budget. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, learning how to plan, schedule, and identify key risks and opportunities that ensure our projects succeed. Start living your future today!

What will I be doing?

  • Assisting in planning and controlling the delivery of projects, ensuring they stay on track and within budget.
  • Working closely with project managers to identify and manage risks, issues, and trends that could impact project success.
  • Gaining experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from small to medium complexity.
  • Developing your planning skills and support the delivery of projects with values up to £20m.
  • Collaborating with various team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Taking initiative and work independently, with guidance from senior project controllers.

What do I need to be successful?

We require our graduates to have a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant technical, scientific, data, or engineering field.

You will also need:

  • Motivation and enthusiasm, with the potential to develop strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • A proactive attitude with the ambition and drive to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work across different teams and adapt to various working environments.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility with working hours when needed.
  • Full Driving Licence required

Additional Information

Our recruitment process requires you to complete:

  • A deductive and verbal reasoning test
  • A one-way video interview
  • An assessment centre, which will take place between 27th November - 6th December 2024.
