The Norwich Bioscience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their busy Facilities department.

The NBI Partnership provides high quality, non-scientific support services for the diverse community of staff, students and visiting workers at the Institutes (the Earlham Institute, John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Laboratory and Quadram Institute Bioscience) and for the NBI Partnership.

The Facilities Department's primary function is to manage the estate, ensuring all assets are properly maintained and compliant with statutory legislation, guidelines, and policies. The team is responsible for project management and delivery, planned and reactive maintenance, strategic asset management, energy and environmental management, and soft facilities services, including security, reception, cleaning, portering, and catering.

The role:

Join our dynamic Facilities team and contribute significantly to the smooth execution of facilities and capital projects within a scientific research-based environment. This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a significant development journey with the Next Generation Infrastructure project, set to continue through to 2030. We are dedicated to continual improvement and delivering a high level of customer assurance.

The ideal candidate:

The successful candidate will have a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC), Building Services or equivalent experience and training and an IOSH Health and Safety Qualification. It is an essential requirement of this role in that the post holder has strong knowledge of Health and Safety and CDM regulations. It desirable to have experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment in an research environment

Additional information:

Salary on appointment will be within the range £27,750 to £34,500 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post offered on an indefinite basis.

This role does not meet the full salary requirements set by UKVI to allow for visa sponsorship.
