We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. In this role, you will be at the forefront of mechanical design, contributing to the development and improvement of R&D. Your expertise in electro-mechanical design will be crucial in planning and executing projects to meet milestones and cost targets, while ensuring that your designs meet the technical and commercial requirements of our customers.

Day to day of the role:

  • Lead all aspects of mechanical design work, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and cost control.
  • Engage in the full project lifecycle, from concept development to design verification.
  • Communicate continuously with customers to understand their needs and provide cost-effective design solutions.
  • Conduct theoretical analysis and mathematical modelling to support concept development.
  • Utilise expertise in engineering materials and manufacturing processes to turn novel ideas into production solutions.
  • Develop and build prototypes to test functionality.
  • Devise, implement, and document experiments and tests.
  • Manage engineering changes and write detailed technical documentation.
  • Source components and liaise with suppliers to ensure the highest quality and cost-efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in an engineering design environment, with experience in electro-mechanical design.
  • BA degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills, with an analytical and proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with a strong command of written and spoken English.
