The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Welder to join our busy and growing organisation. The Welder will ensure the most efficient running of the assets within their area assigned through the effective setting, monitoring and maintenance for which they are responsible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce products in line with Company output rates.
- Jig setting and first off quality sign off for work produced.
- Fill in the required SAP bookings and downtime data.
- To Produce good quality parts in line with the Quality guidelines.
- Record any scrap bookings on the system.
- To train on multiple types of welding stations for flexibility.
- Required experience/skills/qualifications:
- Experience of working with MIG welding and capability of producing welds to the required standard.
- Understanding of mechanical production techniques.
- Be able to use accurately: tape measure, micrometre, verniers and other go/no-go gauges.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Good attention to detail to highlight any issues or defects.
Desirable experience/skills:
Two years welding experience
