Overview
- An industry-leading financial institution is seeking a Data Governance Lead (SVP) to join their Services, Markets and Client (SMC) CDO - Data Risk & Controls Team
- As a Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for leading activities that contribute to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy
- This small but high-performing group is at the forefront of defining Enterprise Data Governance Strategy and Data Risk and Control Framework.

- Day rate: £550/day - Inside IR35
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: end date 31/12/24 (will most likely be extended)
- Hybrid working - 3 days/week in the office
Key responsibilities of a Data Governance Lead:
- Lead policy adoption, compliance metrics, and training initiatives
- Conduct business analysis to align needs with data governance standards
- Contribute to establishing data governance and risk control standards
- Support key data transformation projects as a subject matter expert
- Ensure clear understanding of data-related roles and responsibilities across the business
- Manage project lifecycles, including risk assessment and reporting
Required Skills and Experience for a Data Governance Lead:
- Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Risk, Controls, or Data Auditing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Data Operating Model practices and policies in financial services
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Data/Information Management
- Relevant certifications in Data, Risk, Audit, or Project Management are a plus
